Dr. Gauri Shankar Pandit, Nepal Medical Council (NMC) registered Paediatric Surgeon, is dedicated to advancing children’s surgical
care in South Asia.
My medical journey began with an MBBS in Nepal, followed by an intensive MS in Pediatric Surgery at the Children’s Hospital, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad. This rigorous five-year program shaped my expertise in managing a wide spectrum of pediatric and neonatal surgical conditions.
Currently, I am pursuing a post-doctoral clinical fellowship in Neonatal and Pediatric Surgery at the Child Surgical Foundation, under the mentorship of Prof. Nadeem Akhtar. Through this fellowship, I actively manage complex neonatal and pediatric surgical cases across several hospitals in Islamabad.

ABOUT ME
I am Dr. Gauri Shankar Pandit, an NMC-registered Pediatric Surgeon with advanced training in Neonatal and Pediatric Surgery. Currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Child Surgical Foundation, I have also served as Senior Registrar and Chief Resident at PIMS, Islamabad.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Dr. Pandit completed his MS in Pediatric Surgery at SZABMU/PIMS, Islamabad, successfully clearing all exams, thesis defense, and clinical training on the first attempt. He earned his MBBS from National Medical College, Nepal consistent academic excellence. His strong academic record reflects a lifelong commitment to excellence in pediatric surgical care.
CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
With over 10 years of experience, Dr. Pandit has managed complex neonatal and pediatric surgical cases. At the Child Surgical Foundation, he independently performed emergency and elective surgeries while leading surgical teams. His residency at PIMS further strengthened his expertise in NICU, PICU, trauma care, and congenital anomaly surgeries.

Dr. Pandit is certified in Basic Life Support (AHA) and has advanced training in laparoscopy, stapling, and research methodology. Skilled in IT-based medical tools, he contributes to pediatric surgery research and serves as Honorary Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of MAR Pediatrics, reflecting his leadership in medical innovation and academic growth.

Dr. Pandit’s research covers orchidopexy, neonatal surgical mortality, laparostomy, cystic hygroma, and pediatric appendicitis. His work, published in leading international journals, contributes to advancing pediatric surgical knowledge and practices. He is dedicated to bridging clinical expertise with research to improve outcomes for children worldwide.
